Candlelight

by: Patricia Osborn Orton

A candle is a little thing
But it's power can't be denied.
It can light the darkest corner
And cast your fears aside.

In the blackness of a long night
You can bask in it's soft, warm glow
Until the break of morning
When the light begins to show.

There are people all around
Who are in their darkest hour-
People who are friendless
Who need your candle power.

So let your little candle shine
For those with trouble or pain.
If you light the way for just one soul
You haven't lived in vain.
