While stationed in England my friend Mary asked me if I wanted to go to a church meeting. I said yes but as we only had one car then, and my husband was working, I would need a ride. She said she could take me but had some things to do after church but, that I could get a ride home with one of the other ladies.

After Church Mary introduced me to a lady who had been at our meeting and asked her if she could give me a ride home. We lived in Base housing (Which was not on base) and I assumed this lady lived there too. On the way home I found out she was going pretty much out of her way to take me home. We had a nice chat and I found out this women had a wonderful spiritual life.

One morning two weeks later I answered the phone and it was her. She had just come from the hospital and had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease. She asked me to pray for her. Of course I said I would and to my amazement went right into prayer right then and there. I have never prayed on the phone for anyone except this one time, it just isn't me. When asked, I usually tell people I will pray for them, and do it later. As I asked Jesus to reach down and place His healing hand on her she gave a short gasp and said "Oh Mary, I felt Jesus touch me as you said that."

A week later she called me back. She had gone back to the hospital for more tests. The Dr.'s had wanted to know how far the disease had advanced. She was so excited. She said "They can't find any evidence of Hodgkin's. God healed me."
We spent some time on the phone just praising God for His goodness and mercy.

That was the last call I received from her. I never even saw her after that. It seemed so strange, I only met her once when she gave me a ride home, and she only called me twice. Once with the news of her illness, and once to tell me she had been healed.
