This poem was found by a dear Aunt of mine who has gone to Heaven since. She had suffered a beating that day in the presence of her young daughter. The daughter is an adult now but kept the poem after her Mother left and sent it to me a few days ago with the following message: This is a poem my Mother carried in her billfold from 1956 till she died. I was sorting out her things after she died and the poem was still there. I remember the day she found this poem, in an advertisement she got in the mail. When my brother was a baby, our daddy had been cussing and fussing & slapping her around. He finally had to go to work, Thank God. She & I were still very shaken & she was crying, wondering WHY life had to be that way. WHY her husband was so mean and all those things a person thinks about when caught in that kind of violence. Someone as GOOD & KIND as her should have been treated like a queen, by her husband. She read the poem aloud to me. We cried & prayed. This short little poem gave her great comfort that morning. You can see why I believe our Guardian Angel is the author of some "Unknown Author" poems. She took the poem and slipped it into her billfold. All through the years, when ever she got a new billfold, she would transfer the poem to it. Anyway here's the poem By UNKNOWN author. |
LET OLD THINGS PASS AWAY. I HEAR THAT YOU CAN DO IT. BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY.
MOLD THIS LIFE OF CLAY. PUT ME BACK TOGETHER. DO IT, LORD TODAY. My Mother took care of this poem for 24 yrs. God did answer her prayer. And I have taken care of it from that time onward. |
