When I was little we lived in the city. Like most 5 year olds I was eager to do things for my Mom and Dad. Every night my Dad would go to a little store just yards away from our home and buy an evening newspaper. One evening I guess he forgot and so I begged my mother to let me go to the store to pick up Dad's paper. She was a little reluctant, however, you know how a 5 year old can wear you down, she finally said O.K. I had to cross a street to get to the store but it was not a main road and I was always careful when crossing the road with my Mom, she had taught me to look both ways before crossing the street with her.

I was close to the center of the road when a bus swung around the corner, I saw it and froze, it was coming right at me. I couldn't decide if I should run to the other side of the street, or turn back to the sidewalk behind me which was closer. All the this time the bus was still bearing down on me, I don't think the driver saw me. I felt two hands under my armpits and I was dragged backwards, heels scraping the ground, to the sidewalk I had just left. I turned to see who had pulled me from danger and there was no one there. To this day I have given credit to my Guardian Angel whom God sent to watch over me until the day I go home to my Heavenly Father.
