Jewels Of Nature

by: Patricia Osborn Orton

Diamonds gleam on a morning lawn
Where the dew fell overnight.
They sparkle in the morning sun
What a beautiful, glorious site.

Rubies and Citron on autumn leaves-
God's colors, a sight to behold.
Man has never painted such hues;
These jewels, so bright and bold.

Jewels that can't be bought
For they were not mined by man.
Created from God's own Glory,
And fashioned by His own hand.

Shades of the fiery Opal
Are seen in a sunset sky.
Fire so bright and beautiful
Like God, if He passed by.

Sapphires gleam on a snowy hill
As Winter descends once again.
A thousand points of deepest blue
To delight the eyes of man.

The Gold of a sunrise delights us,
As the dawn of the morning fades.
Another day of God's wonders
To enjoy as we go on our way.

The Emerald of a summer green
Brings children out to play
And delights of a summer evening
More lovely than words can say.

Money can't buy these jewels so rare
For they are not earthly things.
They were created with the dawn of time
To the sound of angel wings.
