| When we lived at Fort Walton Beach Florida, a very good friend of ours was diagnosed as having kidney stones. They were, of course, very painful but he neglected to have the operation necessary to remove them for he feared the surgery. Finally he was forced to go into the hospital because of the pain and was scheduled for the surgery. He was terrified. He did not want to be "put to sleep" because he had a great fear of something going amiss. I began to pray. I told my husband that I was praying that he would not have to have the surgery. He, and others, told me that it was imminent and there was just no other alternative. He was in the hospital, surgery was scheduled and there was no sign of his passing the stones. I kept on praying just the same. The day came for the surgery. He was prepped and carried to the operating room. Still no sign of escaping the operation. Just as they were about to begin the operation, he passed the stones and the surgery was not necessary. God is not always there when WE want Him but He is always on time. Patricia Osborn Orton |
