The Lifeline
by: Patricia Osborn Orton
There is a lifeline that holds
Through the storms of life
As our vessels are tossed
On a sea of strife.
Though the winds at gale force
Blow our ship about
And we have doubts
Within and without.
The lightening may flash
In a stormy sky
And the thunder roll loud
In the heavens high.
Our ship is made fast
By that lifeline strong
If it's secured by Christ
On His heavenly throne.
His strength is sure
Though we're tossed about.
He is our anchor,
Have no doubt.
He'll guide us safely
'till we're home at last
And keep our lifeline
Secure and fast.
