Jehovah Jireh- The Lord will Provide

We were asked to go to Houston to put on a program for one of the area churches during the Christmas holiday season . This required us to be working a couple of days past our Christmas break. All of the other house parents had already left for vacation. On the way back to the children's home, we stopped off at my husbands Dads house. His Dad had purchased a new truck. My husband was thrilled for him and they spent sometime checking it out. We then started driving back to the children's home and my husband said "I would love to have a truck." I had never heard him ask for anything for himself. I leaned by head on the window of the children's home van we were driving and said "God, I have never heard him ask for anything for himself. Why can't he have a truck? He's so faithful to you." I said this out loud so my husband heard it also.

Our pay at the children's home was very, very small so it was impossible to buy one.
In a couple of hours we pulled up to our back entrance at the home and I heard my phone ringing. I worked at getting the door unlocked, hoping they wouldn't hang up before I had a chance to reach the phone. They didn't . It was the campus director's wife on the line. Her name was Tammy. Tammy said, "Betty, we saw you drive in and we wanted to catch you before you left for vacation. We hate to ask but can you stay one more day? A man and his wife want to bring a lot of food to the home but they require you and your husband to be here. We were tired of traveling, so we told Tammy that we would wait until they arrived before we took our time off. The next afternoon the couple knocked on our cottage door. We all went out side to check out what they had brought. There were two trucks. One was loaded to the hilt with huge cans of all kinds of food . My husband, Will said," How do you want to do this? Do you want to drive the truck to the pantry or do you want me to drive it , so we can start unloading it? The gentleman said, Will, you don't understand! This truck is for you. Then he reached into his top pocket and handed my husband the title to this double cab pickup. My husband said, " Please Mr., don't tease me, I've wanted a pickup my whole life. We didn't even know these people. The man told us God had told him and his wife at separate times that this pickup was for Will. They had to leave so they left the pickup with us and we drove the truck to the pantry across the campus to unload the food. My husband was crying . The campus director came and was helping us unload and we couldn't believe what had happened. All of a sudden I remembered that the home had a needs list and on that needs list was a pickup for the home use. I told Will and Phillip, we can't keep this pickup because its not right. The children's home was asking for one. Phillip said," You don't have a thing to worry about pulling into the home at that very minute was another transporter and loaded on the back of that was a pickup that was being donated to the children's home. Within thirty minutes or an hour two trucks had been donated- one to Will and one to the home. Is our God good or what?
